Modest Style: Tokyo streets

Maybe I’m biased but I love Japanese style. My sister is working over in Japan and she’s always telling me how Japanese girls manage to pull of the loose, modest clothing thing whilst still looking super chic. I know these girls aren’t covered from head to toe but what they are wearing has so much personality and there are definitely ways to make it work for us.

Layers and Shapes: photos by Rei Shito from her amazing blog STYLE from TOKYO
I love the shape of the pretty flowery dress above, it shows you can have sharp tailoring and keep it loose. It makes a change from always having floaty tops and dresses.
Get Inspired
I’ll be posting more Japanese style later on, but if you just can’t wait there’s plenty more inspiration to be found at Rei’s blog STYLE from TOKYO
Get The Look
Go bohemian by mixing prints and colours, or keep it chic in monotone and experiment with texture.
Scarves are always a good accessory with these outfits.
Play with shapes, Boxy blazers and frilly skirts look great together.
And as always I love those layers.

wooow their style is so cool! iv noticed that lots of japanese ppl in england look super fashionable *jealous* and they can pull off otherwise tough looks
I love love love Japanese fashion, how do they do it!? They all look so cute, too. I can totally hijabify those outfits!
I love Japanese fashion especially their one-piece. I even buy Japanese fashion magazine eventhough I can’t read them. Its fun seeing Japanese magazine where they mix and match a few basic wardrobe pieces into different outfit combination that can last you a whole week. Maybe you can do that with Islamic fashion.
I love Japanese fashions !
But if we dressed in those kind of clothes where i live people would think I’m crazy lol
But Japanese people always manage to pull off the craziest styles !![]()
