Resort wear is full of inspiration for Muslimahs. Maxi dresses are a staple for these collection

Resort wear also sometimes known as cruise wear are collections by designers for the ultimate in holiday glamour (think yachting in Monaco). One, hmm shall we call it a side effect of the easy wearing, comfortable, summery designs is that the majority of the designs are perfect for the hijabi.

Kors combines feminine silhouettes and prints that invoke summer sun

I love the skirt (above left) by Michael Kors. The silhouette is something I’ve been trying out, it’s girly but sophisticated at the same time. The print on it isn’t my favourite, but the shape is lovely. The kaftan is a favourite for these collections, it’s the perfect beach cover-up, and for us hijabi’s it translates really well into an every day summer look.

Colours range from bright, to black, to the barely tinted
Why I love the collections
Because resort wear is much more casual than the designers main line collections finding high-street copies shouldn’t be that difficult. It may not be the most exciting group of collections to everybody, but to me they bring an accessible side to high-fashion and what’s more they cater to a hijabi’s needs.
