Head scarf and sunglasses

For Muslimah’s it’s funny when you see an image like this on the pages of a fashion magazine. This Dolce and Gabbana ad was definitely eye-catching to say the least. There’s just something about the look of a headscarf and sunglasses that is so iconic. The bonnet would be the perfect base for a hijab, imagine a head scarf draped around it probably pinned at the back to stop it falling down!

High Fashion Bonnets

Hijab bonnet styles have been around for a while in high fashion TSE, dsquared2 and Dolce and Gabbana being the most memorable for me. Over the next 3 days I’ll be profiling each of their campaigns so see what you think! If I’ve missed any then let me know and I’ll add them in too.

Head scarf timeline

It’s not the first time Dolce and Gabbana have used head coverings in their campaigns. For their Autumn/Winter collection last year Dolce and Gabbana revived that vintage look with printed scarves tied under the chin.

Summer Style

Hijab or headscarf styles aren’t that uncommon in winter but it’s nice to see the trend translate into a lighter look.

So now back to spring/summer for a surprisingly hijab friendly collection. I just love those stripes!
