TSE ad campaign

Hijab in Vogue? you’d be forgiven for thinking these were taken for a Muslimah label. Cashmere label TSE have made a bold statement more than once with models sometimes covered from head to toe. I first saw the ads in an Observer fashion Supplement Autumn ‘07, the images were so different to everything else in the magazine.

Summer Bonnets

Cashmere bonnets in summer came as more of a surprise. They are similar to the D&G style with a vintage swim cap feel but most importantly they are very hijab friendly.

Covering the ears and the hair nicely they frame the face very well even if the statement isn’t as dramatic as the Autumn/Winter style.

Just layer a lightweight hijab over the top to cover the neck and you’re all set for spring/summer.

Islamic Twist

As a hijabi the thing I loved most about the first images I saw was the fact that they went all out to cover the model from head to toe, there were only a couple where she wasn’t totally covered. Not only that but the way the headscarves had been wrapped were original and looked amazing. I loved the height and the interesting shapes they managed to create. Beautiful modesty was shown to readers who wouldn’t usually see it shown in such a bold way.
