A nautical theme can work on anybody, it's an easy style to integrate into your wardrobe.
Seaside Summer
As a hijabi I don’t go out of my way to follow trends but some just rub off on you. What with all the stripes and anchors lining the shelves of the highstreet and endorsements from the style elite it’s hard not to notice. What I really like is the simplicity, it’s clean cut and easy to wear. You can mix trends by adding boyfriend shirts and statement shoes. It’s not so much a trend as it is a design classic, so lets summer sailor style.
How to wear it
I had the wide leg jeans and the tops before I thought of putting them all together, I love the blazer (Zara) and how it finishes off the outfit. It kind of reminds me of the D&G ad campaign that I posted about. The colours are fresh and can be worn bold or as accents. If you aren’t a colour fanatic then keep to the navy and white spectrum and use red accents and accessories if you want to experiment.
Top tips for a nautical style
This style couldn’t be simpler, it’s all about stripes and crisp whites. You’ll find a whole host of things in your wardrobe that you can combine to get a perfect outfit.
Colour palette is key- red white and blue in any combination.
Keep it simple- mix stripes and logos but make sure it’s not overcrowded or you lose the fresh impact.
Do denim- Denim goes really well with this trend, dark for more formal or lighter for a casual look
Accessories- Bold colours and gold or silver chains, keep it to the key colours and experiment

salam hana.im living in malaysia and everywhere i go at the mall i saw this nautical image on display,my fav magazine also highlight this style in this month issue.there’s one singapore based label name charles and keith have many variety of nautical style inspired shoes to choose from.colours like white,red and blue dominate the style.but i dont really like this sailor girl image..anyway
