The New Black

Black doesn't have to be dressy, wear with soft tones and punkish jewellery to make it casual
Islamic Fashion Favourite
Islamic clothing has always been synonymous with black, and there’s good reason. As the legendary Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel once said “One is never over- or underdressed with a little black dress.” (we’ll just pretend he said long)
Here’s why I love black:
It stays opaque even when it’s thin and lightweight
It can be subtle but still striking, sometimes simple is best!
It goes well with everything, and works as a blank canvas for colour and accessories
It is timeless, it’s the one colour guaranteed to come back every season, every year.

Bright and metallic detailing works beautifully with black for a strong statement
Modest Fashion
It’s a very modest basic colour, but it doesn’t have to be boring, here’s how to spice it up a little:
Wear it with a bold colour, a bright red jacket or peacock blue statement necklace. You can even afford to mix and match because black works as a great colour bridge. Prints also look amazing with black, it really brings out the pattern and different colours.
There are so many shades of black, for something a little different go for a grey shade black, or move into navy black tones.
Black can handle a lot of accessorizing so think big bangles, and statement bags and jewellery.
If in doubt go for monochrome, I tend to forget what an amazing combination black and white make. It always looks fresh and current, it’s perfect for a more dressed up workwear look but can be made to look casual with accessories too.
