My Maxi Moment

You know how you discover something you’ve had for ages and fall back in love, well I at the moment when I look into my wardrobe I see only this dress. These photographs just don’t do it justice. It belonged to my grandmother, or great aunt, it’s hand made in so many silk panels and just feels beautiful to wear. I walk feeling unashamedly feminine as silk swishes around my feet.

I wore it earlier in the week whilst falling in love with a leather jacket in Reiss:
Shop Assistant: That’s such a lovely print.
Me: Thanks, I think it was my grandmothers.
I could have said vintage, boho, hand made, but no, I chose the one thing that made me sound like I just rummage through old peoples wardrobes for me clothes (which I do). I wouldn’t mind, but not in front of the jacket, just let me hide my embarrassment far far away from that soft peachy leather.

very nice print and funny you mentioned the rummaging….. i went through my mums wardrobe last night and found a black/pink/green floral maxi she wore 20 years ago. i paired it with a khaki green button up shirt-jacket, left it open and voila! beaut! however i dont know what colour hijab to wear it with…..

Love the jacket, always love a good blazer at the moment im searching for a white or dusty pink blazer for spring/ summer. Blazers ala Stella Mccartney from last season/or Elizabeth and James, which leads me to my request to you Hana. Now that spring and summer is upon us please can you give us ideas as to what you like to wear in spring summer – going from your previous posts i know you adore maxi dresses – however is there anything else that you reccomend for spring/summer. Also could you put together a few spring/ summer outfits up for your reader? P.S cant wait to see your leather jacket- recently bought the new leather jacket from the Winter Kate collection still deciding whether i should keep it its in amazing soft leather!

salaam, I just discovered your site and I absolutely LOVE IT mA! I love your quirky, out of the ordinary-ness for a hijabi, inspiring, the kind of thing i’ve been looking for, cant wait till your online shop is up iA! Little suggestion for this site, could you also categorise by looks/styles? e.g, casual, business, formal, evening etc…so anyone looking for ideas could easily navigate?

Hi Hanna,,, i love all your outfit and the way you mix and matched those, no doubt you HYPE!! any way, i need some of inspiration for long skirt with fashion hijab for teaching, m a teacher in Islamic School and everyday i have to wear long skirt if not my boss gonna complain on me, and it happen sometimes lol! coz m wearing capri pants or just ordinary long pants. so yeah i really need ur suggestion for this, coz i’m run out of the idea recently. i’m waiting for your respond soon Hanna, thanx a bunch before XOXO
