Keeping it Casual
Another Simple Style
This was my attempt at making a plain jersey hoodie a little more interesting. You can’t really tell from these pics but when light shines through the lace you get pretty shadow tattoos on your cheek. I’ll get the full length pictures of the outfit up soon, but maybe not too soon- I wouldn’t want it to get samey.
If you have a request for an outfit idea then leave your comments below. I’m going off vintage shopping again soon so I’ll see what I dig up.

love this look! cute hoodie.. but maybe those black scarf would be seen just like hair… so i recommend using other color, hehe..
this is so nice! its hard finding a laid back look thats comfy and elegant! i think the black scarf is fine. as long as your hair is not showing and your body is modestly covered, that is all that matters…
so creative
)is that the lace you got from your shopping trip in london? can u tell me where the shop is?
) hehe thanksssss!
That’s an ace hoody!
I’ve recently started wearing an abayah, so any tips or ideas as to what else I could wear with my abayah, or different colours that complement each other that I could wear would be greatly appreciated!
Salaams Tahira, ok so here are my top things to wear with abaya:
1. A shrunken or cropped leather jacket
2. A vintage tailored blazer
3. A bright long knitted cardigan
4. A gold cuff braceletPersonally I stick to a neutral or dark abaya then get creative with the top layer (jacket etc.) But the best thing is to try everything and see what works for you! x
Thanks!
I find plain abayas are better too, that way I can wear print hijabs/hoodies/cardies with them.
OMG.
thanks a lot.
this is so inspiring.
Fab as always Hana!
Love the idea of personalising the hoodie…I wear lots of them but often find them too plain or TOO blingy! So a great idea! Thanks for sharing.
I recently bought a GORGEOUS leather jacket from All Saints to wear over my abaya! In fact I have the items on your top tip list! Must mean I’m learning something. YAY!And I’m sooo excited about your collection I cant wait Inshaa Allah.
Take care
Uzz

Salaam Hana,
Since you mentioned your going vintage shopping, I would love some tips about how to add a depression era (1920’s) look to my wardrobe!
hai hana!
i’ll be having my graduation dinner at the end of this may. and its theme will be “Casual Retro”. i havent any idea what to wear bcos i dont think maxi will look good on me because i am chubby and quite short. will you please give me some idea? i just want a simple but sweet outfit. please!
love the way you decorated your hoodie!
is it possible to show us how you did your scarf in this look?
Hi again Hana looking through my mums wardrobe i found a beautiful navy coloured skirt made of a thick jersey fabric, and it has a small gold belt detail near the center at the waist. its so nice but i have no idea what to wear it with without looking very nautical! any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Oh and also, what works with a brown skirt? Thanks!
Heya!! Do you think you could show something for us sporty hijabies? I want to be able to hit the gym/football/whatever, while retaining modesty!!
I CANT WAIT TIL YOUR COLLECTION COMES OUT!!
Salam sis, could you roughly explain how we can get the hijab that way? its sooo pretty!
awesome idea. I like the fact you get that extra aspect (the shadow) only sometimes.
have you ever thought of playing with reflectives in your designs too? they are something else that has an extra dimension but only sometimes!
I love your hoodie! And this has inspired me a lot. Thank you so much.
that is an absolute amazing idea! I’ve only read a few posts from your blog and am already inpired! I can’t wait to read the rest! B.d.w that hood looks so beautiful on you-street style yet very stylish and elegant
