The Editorial Shoot
Day Light Love
I know these have been a long time coming. I’ve been so busy with the Maysaa website and getting things ready for the launch. I’ll be in London until Friday involved in a BBC piece, I’ll let you know more later! Anyway, enough of my excuses, here are the goods:
We shot with the lovely Lara Jade again, and the most gorgeous models. I was wearing heels all day to be the right height to dress them! Hair was styled by Justina Sullivan and make-up by Leah Mabe.

May Allah bless you, in your endeavor. I’ve been waiting for this forever, all the waiting and the hype, is def making it worth it. it looks stunning. Mashallah, words can not describe how excited i am. I expect the pieces to be a little expensive, i just hope its not astronomical, that as a student i can not afford it. cuz dat would be a bummer.
From one Muslimah to another, I am sooo proud of you!!! You are talented, mashaAllah. Good on you for doing what you love most =)
I love that salmon pink dress with the coat so pretty..but it looks like I have to wear pants underneath..
Why did the collection does not cover the aurah? I though it would be for muslimah collection..
I wish you more success and can’t wait for Maysaa to launch^^
Dearest aifah:)
another amazing collection.
i wonder if i can afford to buy and wear dat gorgoeus dress:)
good job lurve.. and miss ur face and quirky style:)
shes wearing your bracelet! i second Aifa’s question; was Maysaa not aimed for the Muslim market? i mean its great if everyone can purchase your items, of course but like Aifa said, that beauuutiful pink dress; how would us sisters wear that?
it look really nice ….i thought Maysaa is for muslim market too

A Little Explanation
I’m so glad you like the pictures. The pink dress isn’t actually for sale… this was an editorial shoot; like a concept. The jacket is the item I was trying to show in the picture, everything else was to accessorize, compliment it.
As a designer I don’t design anything I wouldn’t wear myself, but at the same time I don’t want to exclude other people from wearing the designs, they shouldn’t have to feel like ‘this isn’t meant for me.’ So I style the clothes in a variety of ways to show how it can be worn by anyone. For me, I just want to make something that will make a woman feel beautiful, and not to have people label it as this or that group, but to have a personal connection with it, as though it was designed just for them.
You guys are so important to me, and I really hope you understand what I mean, maybe it will be clearer when Maysaa launches. I think and hope you will be pleasantly surprised by the prices, and of course my lovely StyleCovered readers will get special discounts and privileges!
P.S. Nurul, Maysaa means- to walk with dignity (in Arabic)
I think Maysaa is not merely intended for muslimah. Maybe Hana tries to offer modesty clothing in general with this Maysaa label. It’s her choice, I don’t see why not.
Besides, she already gave us plenty of ideas on how to turn any look into something more modest.
Let’s pray for the success of Maysaa instead! ^^/
this looks AH-MAZING!!
can’t wait, totally excited for the launch. wish you all the best Hana =)
ahhh my heart is beating so fast.. its so exciting.. hmm we’ll be pleasantly surprised by the prices ?thats a great sign! u make my day ! and i love the name Maysaa and what it means.
oh and i forgot to say love the black dress and the jacket.. cant wait cant wait. the make up and hairstyle is awesome. i love how the set looks too.
good success hana insha’Allah muslimas can wear pink dresses like that at home, yes so why complain? seriously
Ok, I’ve OFFICIALLY fallen in love with you, after your explanation of the type of clothes you would be offering. I love that concept of ‘personal connection’ to the clothes we wear, and not putting labels. Good clothes are good clothes are good clothes.
Can’t wait for the launch, sis!

This is totally amazing! I love the black dress.
All the best Hana! So looking forward to the launch, cant wait![]()
HI Hana, i agree with your explanation, however the salmon dress is actually my favourite! The chiffon layored tulle seems wonderful, if only it was a bit longer you have a perfect dress which is muslimah friendly. Would you consider making a dress like this in a longer version because if you do i certainly would be interested! P.S do you have any more pictures would love to see more!!
LOVE IT HANA!!!! I can’t wait Im so excited!!!!
Best of luck sweetie!
Inshaa Allah you will have the utmost success in the launch and also continued success with your company!

the black dress is AMAZING. add wide cincher belt, studded heels, and vintage clutch and i’m good to go.
hana, you are absolutely brilliant! finally someone is designing really fashionable, can-be-edgy-if-you-want, runway-esque, model-worthy, wouldn’t-mind-being-caught-dead-in-thanks-very-much muslim clothing. THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU !!!
p.s. please ship to the US…
oh~ and btw, if you could, someday down the line, design something like that fluffy little peach dress, please do!
(also, a question: what will sizing be like in maysaa? i mean, will there be room for talls?)
I’m SO excited to start buying your clothes, and to feature you on my blog! I just saw your BBC piece and you’re so wonderful, mashaAllah
