Workshop 3

Styling / The Shoot

RE-WORK! styling // shoot

Three is the magic number, in our RE-WORK workshops.  // 17th March 2011

“Why are you so secretive about what goes on behind the lens in your photos?”
“Well, I’m saving it to whisper in the ears of a dozen lovely people at my re-work workshop, would you like to come?”
“Y.E.S!”

THE CLASS
It says ‘class’ but really it’s just an excuse to play dress up and exchange secrets on how to take interesting style shots. You won’t even notice how much you’re learning.

Introductions
In case you’re a fresh face the group, or want to get reacquainted

Styling
Using your own favourite pieces, and a selection of beautiful Maysaa (un-released) collections, and borrowing from the resplendent wares of Stellar, we’ll go through the process of putting a look together. This will include me bombarding you with ‘quick tips’ and ‘how-to-avoid-looking-silly-because-I’ve-made-every-mistake-in-the-book.’ Here are just a few of the skills we’ll be experimenting with.

Lunch!
delicious home cooking and chats about how wonderful the day has been so far.

The Shoot
If you’ve never been on a shoot, now’s your chance.  We’ll split you into 3 groups and rotate

MAKEUP
with a wonderful (I’ve worked with her lots so I know) professional makeup artist, she’ll be teaching you tricks of the trade so you can learn how to apply your makeup ‘just-so’. (I need this class!)

DRESSING-UP
Using your new styling knowledge, you can put your final look together

TAKING PHOTOS
So you can learn the ins and outs of taking style shots. This will include self-portraits, and then a mini editorial.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING
A small selection of your favourite clothes, shoes and accessories.
If you have your own camera definitely bring it along, but I’ll be taking the photos (as well as showing you how to take self-portraits) so no worries if you don’t.
Your make-up bag (this is totally optional, we love natural beauties very very much)

THE GOODIES
For this session you’ll be getting your very own style photos (edited by me) sent to you after the work-shop.  I’m excited!

Every member of the RE-WORK workshops will get a personalised bag of goodies, all wickedly beautiful things with not a filler in sight.  Fancy a personal playlist of all the music I’ve picked out for our time together?  An individual hand-drawn sketch?  And a bunch of other presents, vouchers, and fantastic treasures?  Well it’s all yours, and all free.

And because you-got-it-like-that, you’ll automatically get booted on to my personal guest list for pre-launches, voucher codes, insider info and the like.

THE BIG IDEA

“So what’s the big idea?” I hear you ask.  Well, along with all the fun of the making and doing we also have a big Grande Finale to show our resplendent new wares, sell and trade using our new found skills.  Who knows, you might end up getting back the money you put into the RE-WORKshop! We’d very much like that!!

On the 25th March we’ll hold a big bazaar where all the ‘Work-ettes’ will be able to bring clothes they’ve customised (and ones that they love but have no use for), to sell and barter with.  Think of and old time market where little old ladies traded chickens for hay, only with more fashion and less poultry.

You can make money off of your new designs and more importantly make friends with a bunch of fellow creatives.

AND THEN?

If all that wasn’t enough to make you want it now now now, well we’ve teamed up with the wonderful creative team of Ikanpaos kolektif who are going to turn our adventures in RE-WORK! style into beautiful webisodes.

HOW MUCH?

Each workshop is RM300 inclusive of all I’ve mentioned, food and all. What’s more you’ll be a Work-ette for life.

Early Bird
Confirm before 28th Feb and pay RM280

Multi sessions
If you want to join us for more than one session you get discounts!
2 for RM560
3 for RM840

Payment banking details will be emailed to you once you have confirmed the sessions.

I’ve been a silent reader of your blog for almost/over a year & love everything your doing masha’Allah. Any chance you might have a workshop in England? Pretty please with cookies on top… Insha’Allah xo
