Hana Tajima

Style Covered was set up by British born designer Hana Tajima who converted to Islam 6 years ago. Wait! I will stop writing in the third person now…

My papa is Japanese, my mother is English, and I’m somewhere in between. A couple of years ago my label maysaa.com was launched, which is a slightly strange thing because it’s something I’ve always been doing (since I was old enough to cut up bedsheets and dresses- though a little before I knew I wasn’t supposed to). Anyhow maysaa.com was born and is beautiful and impossibly hard work in equal measure, but I couldn’t be doing anything else.

This little online sketchbook is a collection of style shots, musings, and (sometimes rambling) fashion commentary. I am slightly obsessed with design and explore different creative methods of expression with the whole of my heart. So this here blog of mine is a way to share, and learn, and get out these things in my head.

One thing you should know about me is that I love collaboration and running full-tilt down new creative avenues. And I’ve been lucky enough to work with film makers, other (wonderful) designers, magazines, musicians, artists in an effort to create ’something’.

Why I’d Very Much Like To Hear From You

Instead of listening to my echo all day I’d love to know what you think about things, fashion shaped things, photo shaped things etc. If you are inspired or want to share tips then I want to listen to you. I do read my emails, and though I am terrible at replying, please know that I appreciate the sharing of thoughts and will do my best to share back. So if you’d like to say hello…
