Summer Style

I made this dress years ago and although a little worse for wear it’s still something I love wearing.  It’s a bit of a jersey jilbab, great to wear over an outfit and super comfortable.  And of course there is the Maysaa head scarf which I’ve worn to the side, still my favourite!

Long Sleeves Long Dresses

If you like this you can pick up a similar one at Maysaa soon inshAllah, and I do mean soon (I’ll let you guys know of course).  I do like how a jilbab feels, so feminine and comfortable.  Pretty perfect, perfectly pretty.

That’s a Wrap

So I know this is from the resort collection but isn’t it beautiful, kind of abaya-esque.  I’d been looking for this image, I knew it was somewhere in my files.  Aren’t those coloured flowers just the perfect addition.

So sorry about my lack of posting, it’s all for a good cause!  The Maysaa photo shoot is coming up this Thursday and Friday and for the moment my days go something like this: Wake up, work, eat, sleep.  But I will try my best to keep on top of posting, I promise!

Headscarf and Heels

After the Modest Maxi Dress feature I thought I’d treat you to the rest of his resort collection. There is a great mix of styles and colours. I’m trying to be a bit more adventurous and less trend led with what I wear and there is so much inspiration here.

This is not the first time I featured Azrouël, and digging through those Fall 2009 looks I just couldn’t resist sharing them. I kind of got a this season Lanvin vibe from it, but dressed down for sure.

On top of the fact that I love Devon Aoki these images are so beautiful I had to share them. There is something dreamy about them, the relaxed styling is so simple and elegant Devon and David have definitely got the best out of the styling. Love love love it as you can probably tell. “Yesterday I had photo-shoot with Sabrina, she came earlier at 7 in the morning and the total photos we had until she left at 5 in the afternoon is 1678! Now Sabrina has worn hijab. It makes me want to wear hijab too, insyallah . So, she wanted to have a photo-shoot in hijab.”

“We’d really like to have outfits in all black, and of course black shades. We’re always be a fan for this style. The white line we had and black eyeliner are from face painting! We are also like to find out inspiration from Hana’s blog. She has amazing style and her blog is really inspiring for the hijab style.”

A Drop Of Colour…

…Goes a Long Way In Winter

It’s still freezing here and getting a little bit grey. The perfect antidote would be one of these beautiful Kenzo coats with colours that remind me of all things jewelled and delicious. The shapes are oversized and modest with a kind of blankety feel to them. And if like me you have nothing in the coat funds department we can all bask in the warming glow of these lovelies.  If that’s got you in the mood for a jilbab then check out Maysaa for a beautiful selection (even if I do say so myself!)

Resort 2010

I can’t decide whether or not I like this, I love the abaya style shape and the sleeve is beautiful. But I’m feeling a bit on and off about the print, or maybe it’s the high shine finish. Is it verging on the brash? The jury is still out.

A New Year

It’s a new year and here’s hoping it’s the start of something special. Last year was full of hard work, and lots of time spent in the studio being very anti-social. This year I’m hoping I can share all that hard work with you! We’ll be doing lots more as it gets closer to the launch you might just see our girls handing out postcards in Oxford Circus.
