After the Modest Maxi Dress feature I thought I’d treat you to the rest of his resort collection. There is a great mix of styles and colours. I’m trying to be a bit more adventurous and less trend led with what I wear and there is so much inspiration here.

This is not the first time I featured Azrouël, and digging through those Fall 2009 looks I just couldn’t resist sharing them. I kind of got a this season Lanvin vibe from it, but dressed down for sure.

This beautiful jersey maxi dress is made all the more special by the fur gilet. The headband really helps you to imagine how it would look with a headscarf. I absolutely love it!

Now that we’re hitting the minus temperatures I thought it might be nice to warm the depths of our style senses. These beautiful Autumnal tones are the perfect antidote to the December blues.

Sun Rays

I love the sunray pleated maxi skirts and maxi dresses, the whole collection is loose and lovely and perfect for hijab (if maybe slightly more opaque).

Hijab Highlights

Velvet Dungarees, I think I’m in love! Forget the fact that they are truly on trend, they are casual, smart and sumptuous. Definitely the way to go. And the loose shirts are perfect for mixing and matching.

A whole lot of you voted Balmain as your latest look of the week so I thought you might like a little look at what else stood out in the collection. Here are the modest, most hijab friendly picks from the Fall 2009 Balmain line.

Mix & Match

Mostly the whole outfits aren’t hijab ready but if you pick apart the looks there are some great ideas. I love the oversized tops and the sculpted shoulders, and the drapes of the trousers cover up leg shape in a lovely way.

Knitwear featured big this season from chunky to barely there they were piled on to create wonderful layered looks. Great for hijab the headscarves and snoods were elegant and edgy. So wrap up this winter, and layer yourself in this seasons hottest (excuse the pun) trend.

This is a much more wearable maxi dress, formal and understated. It definitely has an abaya like quality about it. Without all the bells and whistles it remains a modest and feminine choice, and the chain link detailing adds just a hint of glamour! Just add a headscarf.

Light Play

I really am in love this maxi dress gown. The pleats add beautiful texture with the shimmer of silk and delicate shadow. It’s the kind of dress I would love to have designed. If you had been lucky enough to wear this to an event it would not be forgotten. Simple, elegant and sophisticated!

Dark Matters

Back in Black

Love this look, the sheer top is beautiful and gains huge hijabi points for having a flesh tone top underneath (though it would score full marks if it was long sleeved). A great style for evening, loads of drama, the perfect remedy to a grey day is a dark night!
