<p>This is a post for Uzz who is looking for alternatives to heels with jeans. She described her style as &#8220;&#8230;a little tomboyish but with a feminine twist.&#8221; which is perfect for me because it&#8217;s what I love! So here are three options to work with.</p>
<h4><span style="color: #cc0066;">Kitten Heels and Boyfriend Jeans</span></h4>
<p><span style="color: #ff99cc;"><em>Option 1</em></span></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3564" title="Modest fashion jeans" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Modest-fashion-jeans.jpg" alt="Modest fashion jeans" width="575" height="766" /></p>
<p>For loose jeans you&#8217;ve got a couple of options, wide leg flares or slouchy boyfriend style denim. I quite like putting together quite a masculine look with really feminine details so the kitten heels work very well indeed.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3562" title="Hijabi style heels" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Hijabi-style-heels.jpg" alt="Hijabi style heels" width="575" height="766" /></p>
<h4><span style="color: #cc0066;">Flats and denim</span></h4>
<p><span style="color: #ff99cc;"><em>Option 2</em></span></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3563" title="Islamic fashion loose trousers" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Islamic-fashion-loose-trousers.jpg" alt="Islamic fashion loose trousers" width="575" height="766" /></p>
<p>Ballet pump style flats are a life saver when it comes to being on your feet all day. These moccasin style ones work well with almost any outfit, they&#8217;re smart enough for most occasions but if you want a bit more glamour then go for ballet pumps.</p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3566" title="Muslim style shoes pumps" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Muslim-style-shoes-pumps.jpg" alt="Muslim style shoes pumps" width="575" height="766" /></p>
<h4><span style="color: #cc0066;">Converse and Jeans</span></h4>
<p><span style="color: #ff99cc;"><em>Option 3</em></span></p>
<p><img class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-3565" title="Muslim fashion casual urban" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Muslim-fashion-casual-urban.jpg" alt="Muslim fashion casual urban" width="575" height="766" /></p>
<p>Possibly my favourite shoes, there&#8217;s not much I don&#8217;t wear them with. But they do go rather well with slouchy wide-leg jeans, and give an edgy casual look. Maybe I&#8217;m biased but out of the three I thought I saved the best till last.</p>
<p>Hope that helped. X</p>

But we do have to be careful when it comes to summer sun through a skirt beautifully illustrated by the pic above. But you can always attach a lining, it doesn&#8217;t even have to be made well or neatly. A handy way to wear semi sheer white clothes or one of those floaty kaftans that are everywhere in the sales now.</p>

<p>The dress which acts as a base to this outfit is beautiful but too smart for everyday. No worries though, with a few styling tricks you can create an outfit fit for a day at a museum or a lovely shopping trip. I pinned the hem on one side to create an asymmetric shape and added quirky jewellery and bright shoes to dress it down. Add a simple headscarf, loose trousers, and a floral cardigan (twisted at the front) and you&#8217;re ready for action.</p>

<p>Slouchy oversized tees, long sleeved or under a shirt, are a perfect hijab friendly remedy to the hot weather. As far as keeping cool goes, you can&#8217;t get much better. This Japanese magazine was full of ideas and awesome prints. Wear them with really loose trousers or jeans, or if trousers aren&#8217;t your thing, wear over a long straight cut skirt or strappy maxi dress. You can even make them party perfect by wearing under a blazer or cropped jacket and a voluminous skirt. I&#8217;m thinking of an Alexa Chung outfit I saw a while back. Now if I can just find the correct issue of Vogue I&#8217;ll post it up. Shouldn&#8217;t be difficult, only 3 years issues to get through&#8230; lets start with January 2006 (could be a long night)!</p>

<p>So I&#8217;m definitely not Nicole Richie&#8217;s biggest fan, but she has seemingly blossomed into a trend setter going from trashy to boho chic. When I came across this photo two things stood out to me&#8230;</p>
<p><span id="more-865"></span></p>
<p><span style="color: #cc0066;">First </span>off the feminine but modest shape of the top, which would look equally gorgeous over loose trousers. It is hijab friendly and really striking. I don&#8217;t know if I&#8217;d go for such a bright colour, but in this instance it&#8217;s more girly than garish and the hint of print breaks up the colour and adds richer tones.</p>
<p><span style="color: #cc0066;">Secondly</span> was the head piece. I can just imagine this being worn over a hijab, I love that detail and I guess it&#8217;s these details that take her into trend setter status.</p>

Modest style: Loose trousers on the catwalk

There are times in a Muslimah&#8217;s life when trousers make life a little easier. Whether you wear them under an Abaya or with a top trousers can be practical, stylish, and modest.

<p>There are times in a Muslimah&#8217;s life when trousers make life a little easier. Whether you wear them under an Abaya or with a top trousers can be practical, stylish, and modest.</p>
<p><span id="more-755"></span></p>
<h4><span style="color: #cc0066;">Hijabi style trousers</span></h4>
<p>As part of the MAYSAA collection I&#8217;ve been working out how to make trousers work for Muslimahs. The key is in the tailoring, the tricky part is the area over the hips. Most high-street trousers that are loose enough through the leg are tight over the hips and bum, so a long top is the only way not to show your figure.</p>
<div id="attachment_762" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 551px"><img class="size-full wp-image-762" title="Hijab Style Tip: Trousers" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/blog1-20.jpg" alt="Hijabi style: Keep a look out, loose trousers often hug the hips " width="541" height="619" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Hijabi style: Keep a look out, loose trousers often hug the hips </p></div>
<h4><span style="color: #cc0066;">Islamic catwalk inspiration</span></h4>
<p>I&#8217;ve taken the best designs from the catwalk and discovered what works best and why.</p>
<div id="attachment_764" class="wp-caption alignleft" style="width: 205px"><img class="size-medium wp-image-764" title="Islamic clothing: loose trousers at Louis Vuitton" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/widelouisv2-195x300.jpg" alt="Muslim Style: Loose tailoring at Louis Vuitton" width="195" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Muslim Style: Loose tailoring at Louis Vuitton</p></div>
<div id="attachment_765" class="wp-caption alignright" style="width: 205px"><img class="size-medium wp-image-765" title="Islamic Fashion: Loose trousers" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/wide2missoni-195x300.jpg" alt="Islamic fashion: Structured trousers at Missoni" width="195" height="300" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Islamic fashion: Structured trousers at Missoni</p></div>
<h4><span style="color: #cc0066;">Flat Fronted</span></h4>
<p>Flat fronted means that they have to pleats or gathers at the waist. Flat fronted loose trousers are hard to find. Louis Vuitton and Missoni have both achieved a loose silhouette over the hips by dropping the crotch slightly lower and cutting it similar to a skirt in that it flares slightly out from the waist.</p>
<div id="attachment_768" class="wp-caption aligncenter" style="width: 335px"><img class="size-full wp-image-768" title="Muslim fashion: Wide leg trousers" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/wide-maxmara.jpg" alt="Modest fashion: Pleated front trousers at Max Mara" width="325" height="500" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Modest fashion: Pleated front trousers at Max Mara</p></div>
<h4><span style="color: #cc0066;">Pleated Trousers</span></h4>
<div id="attachment_770" class="wp-caption alignright" style="width: 178px"><img class="size-full wp-image-770" title="Muslim fashion: pleated trousers" src="http://www.stylecovered.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/03/widelouisv8.jpg" alt="Loose style: Pleats at Louis Vuitton" width="168" height="195" /><p class="wp-caption-text">Loose style: Pleats at Louis Vuitton</p></div>
<p>Trousers with pleats at the waistband often mean that they will be loose over the hips because of that extra bit of fabric. Luckily this style is very much in vogue at the moment, and is my favourite style.</p>
<p>Gone are the days where pleats spelled old fashioned fuddy duddy styling. Now designers have revamped the silhouette and created a very hijab friendly trend.</p>

<p>For the MAYSAA collection I&#8217;ve used this style to create trousers that inshAllah will be everything you need them to be! Look out for them in May at <span style="color: #cc0066;">www.maysaa.com</span> and for Autumn/Winter where there will be more styles to choose from.</p>
