For too long she had wondered ‘what would I be in McQueen… would it be everything I’d imagined it would be?’.  So plots were formed and thickened, all apprehension pushed aside by the giddy idea of tracing her fingers over delicate seams.  It was decided, a wardrobe heist, and though audacious, she thought it honest to plunder in plain view of the fashion set.

Into the halls of Vogue she ran, picking McQueen from the arms of models (they are no match for a fashion hungry girl).  And with a hop and a skip she was gone with the night. “Who stole McQueen?” they cried, faces all aghast.

British Vogue

I do miss hearing the monthly thud of Vogue on my doorstep, but all is not lost.  I took these from an issue a few months back and forgot I had them.  Well, today being one of those days I could happily spend perusing the pages of magazines it was a very happy discovery and something of a substitute, minus the feel of glossy paper and the smell of fashion ink (which is distinctly different from other ink).  I think I’m a little bit in love with Karlie Kloss, her face, and the way she poses, I can’t think of another model who works their body to quite the same effect.  So Miss Kloss, couture, and some way to being covered up… stellar!

NB: I’m bringing back public school ways of saying something is wondrous, so get ready for a lot of ‘top notch’ ’smashing’ ‘exemplary’ ‘jolly good’…

Lily Cole for Vogue Nippon

Just a little something to get me in the mood for a fun summery weekend.  Trying to catch that festival vibe with ditsy florals and loose layering.

Mixing Styles

Sorry about my absence I was up in London feeling very guilty about not posting!  I spent yesterday looking through some stunning prints for MAYSAA, so maybe that’s why I’m on a bit of a mixed up prints kick at the moment.  If you ignore the semi-nudeness of the model you can see a beautiful mix of colour and pattern.  I love how it’s been put together, the shot, the loose styling, so beautiful.

This second shot is sans colour, but that helps bring out the textures.  I love that depth and subtle repetition of stripes.  Reminds me that next time I’m in Morocco I should stock up on scarves!

Vogue Italia Maxi Style

I’m a sucker for anything cleverly mismatched and I’m really liking this ‘dressing up box’ styling.  I think I’d refine it a little if I was going to go for this look-more street friendly.

Maxi Dress

Could be a very misleading title, but never mind.  Oh how I love Jessica Stam, and that maxi dress is beautiful.  The contrast between the black and the baby pink is perfect it’s Fendi I think.  The combination of colours on the Prada dress is lovely, I fell in love with it when it first came out.

Karlie Kloss in Vogue

This look has something about it that is really inspiring. It’s kind of loosely put together but looks so refined. The tartan shawl worn as a maxi skirt would be just as lovely over some trousers. This editorial really reminds you what an amazing model Karlie Kloss is.
